From 2005 to 2013, Iain was the CEO of Spring Global Mail, a unique cross border mail and e-commerce service provider, owned by TNT, Royal Mail and Singapore Post. As CEO, Iain was responsible for strategy development and execution of Spring’s business in over 40 countries, with operations worldwide. This was a challenging time in the industry and the turnaround to profit required a comprehensive re-structure, innovative product and service development, exit from several markets and entry into new markets including disposal and acquisition.
Under Iain’s strong leadership, Spring established itself as the worldwide leader in the industry with a reputation for excellent service and competitive solutions.
From 2000 to 2005, Iain was the VP of Spring with responsibility for Europe, Africa and the Middle East. As a founder board member of the Joint Venture Iain played a significant role in the development of the business case and the negotiations between the shareholders which led to the successful start up of the company. This process also involved a detailed investigation by the EU Competition Authorities, during which time Iain relocated to Brussels to play a lead role in the successful outcome.
Prior to forming Spring, Iain was the Commercial Director of Royal Mail International, an Executive Committee Position, with P&L responsibility for commercial business development IT, pricing and marketing.
In his early career, Iain held various senior roles in IT within Royal Mail including responsibility for several significant IT and structural change investments in the Customer, Marketing and Sales environment.
Iain now lives in Haarlem, the Netherlands.
